Ms Ashley & Ms Gabi's Class - Infants

For the month of September, we have learned about our independence, how to sooth ourselves, and how to see other children’s emotions.

As for the month of October, we will learn language. The first standard we will focus on is for the younger infant ELG: Language Standard 1 - demonstrate awareness of communication through listening and observing. For the older infants, the ELG we will focus on is to demonstrate an increasing awareness of familiar books, signs, and symbols. Since we will be working on our language, we will focus more on sign language with the children with simple words such as more, all done, play, please, and thank you. We will read lots of different books with the children and build with the alphabet blocks so they can be familiar with the letters and the sounds that they make. We will also sing lots of different songs to help build the children’s language as well.
