R&R Recap of November
A Look Back at November…
We are still needing to complete updates on facilities in North Central Oklahoma counties. We will be calling again after Thanksgiving to get updates! Please answer your phones or call us back. We understand everyone is busy this time of year, but we need to get up to date information on your facilities for families looking for childcare in your area.
Again, we are doing fingerprinting at our new offices. We are located above BancFirst in Downtown Bartlesville. Our entrance is in the back of the bank (on the north, facing 2nd Street). Please log onto Identogo to set up an appointment. We will be closed for fingerprinting on December 9th for training and set up of the new system.
Training topics we have taught this month are Child Abuse, Safe Sleep, Self-Care, and Blood-borne Pathogens. We met with our Partners from CECPD, DHS Licensing, STARs, NOC, and NCOCCA. NOC’s new semester starts January 13th. They also have stipends if you complete your Certificate of Mastery, Associates degree, or Bachelor's degree. STARs are contacting 1 STAR facilities to consider moving up in STARs. If you have any questions about STARs, we are here to help in that process. Licensing and R&R are trying to recruit quality family childcare homes. There is a great need in our more rural areas for quality childcare; if you know of anyone interested, please have them call DHS Licensing for more information. Our next Partners Meeting is on February 20, 2020. If you would like to attend, please contact Kristine Abbott .
Renae Barnett is our R&R Infant & Toddler Specialist. She is looking for providers that would like technical assistance in their facilities for infant and toddler classrooms. There is a $500 stipend for anyone that completes the program with her. She is accessible to all our providers in North Central counties. Please contact her at 918-332-8651 or at rbarnett@delawarechild.org if you have any questions or are interested in the program.
As part of Resource and Referral, we are here to help you with trainings and technical assistance. If you are needing training hours or help in the classroom, please feel free to contact us. As a reminder, our schedules fill up quickly. If you need training hours, please give us enough time to schedule a training or look at the Training Calendar to see when our next training near you will be.
