Ms KK's Class - Early Preschool 1
Happy May!
Time sure is going by quickly, and we are enjoying every minute of it together! Things may seem a little unsure right now; however, we are remaining steadfast in learning while we play here at our center! We are making sure everyone stays on schedule and is keeping busy.
The weather has been very good to us, and we have enjoyed time outside looking for signs of new plant life and studying the perfect way to plant our garden. The children are excited to start planting and weeding the garden, and of course, watching for signs of vegetation life! So much fun goes into the garden, and learning is key so that these children can contribute to their own families when they grow up. They know how to dig a hole and plant, water, and pull weeds. They also are learning when the vegetables are ready to pick and when they are not quite ripe. They are fast learners!
Now, it's not always sunny when we are outside, but that's okay! We just grab an umbrella and some rainboots and head for the mud puddles! We have such good fun while practicing gross motor skills and while reading our book, Water is Water. This is one of our favorite books about the water cycle. The children also take turns watering our classroom plants and will tell you, "April showers bring May flowers!"
I would like to share some ideas on Mother's Day. Now, you may be thinking there isn't much to do since you are inside and may not be with other family members, such as grandparents, etc. You can always video chat, send flowers, write a handwritten note, or simply send a card. Those things will mean a lot to those you love! When with mom, you can have a picnic (inside or out), breakfast in bed, pick her some flowers, let the kids make homemade cards, let her relax for the day, or just simply make her dinner. She will love it!
We hope you all are enjoying time with all your family and remember to spend time outside as much as possible!
