Ms Debra's Class - Toddler 2
Hello, Families!
We have enjoyed seeing our friends who have been able to come back to school, and we look forward to a time when we are able to join the rest of our friends when we fully re-open.
The kids have enjoyed playing in the water every morning before it gets too hot in the afternoons to go outside. Don’t forget to bring extra water clothes for your littles! They will surely need them.
During July, we will be spending a lot of time learning about friends and emotions. We will spend time learning how to interact with and play beside each other. We will be doing things like making art with a friend, rolling toys to each other, and building towers in small groups.
We are working on learning our classroom routines as friends come back or transition into the room - routines such as when we have meals and snacks, when we brush our teeth, when we have circle time, and when we have nap time. Routines are important for young children because they allow children to learn what comes next - lessening anxiety and providing security as they learn and explore the world around them. Not only are routines important at school, but they are important for young children at home as well. The following is a link to an article about the importance of routines from Kaplan. CLICK HERE
I hope that your families are doing well as we begin to progress through the various stages of re-opening and during this time of unrest in our country.
Ms. Debra
