July is UV Awareness Month. Protection from sun exposure is important all year round, not just during the summer or at the pool. Ultraviolet (UV) rays can reach you on cloudy and hazy days as well. The most dangerous times are from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Please be UV aware.

We do our best at the center to protect all the children in our care by applying sunscreen, being aware of heightened UV index before even going to the playground, and by providing shaded outdoor play areas.

As you are aware, we celebrated International Mud Day in June. This meant lots of outside time for the children. We spent lots of time in the mud as well as under the water hose. This also meant that our staff had to be diligent in reapplying sunscreen several times. The children and the staff had a wonderful time celebrating.
