It's Summertime!

Hello, Providers!

This month’s theme is Mud, Messy Play, and Sensory Fun! International Mud Day is June 29th. Sensory play is an important part of play time. Sensory play helps develop the whole child. They are learning language development, making nerve connections in their brains' pathways, learning social interactions, and so much more. Educational Playcare wrote an article about the benefits of sensory play for children. Click this link to read more!

We are at the end of our Complete Update 2. If we haven’t gotten your update, please expect a phone call or email in the next few days. Please remember that we are required to do updates twice a year. This will help families in our area looking for child care. If you have not already completed the survey, please click the link to update your facility. Please contact Kristine Abbott at kabbott@delawarechild.org or 918-397-3007 if you have any questions or have issues with the survey. Providers can text their R&R Specialist to update their information as well.

With COVID-19 still a daily struggle for providers, we are still minimizing in person trainings. At the current time, R&R is only doing trainings scheduled with one center at a time; this means that we will not have open trainings for different providers. If you are a center director and would like training for your staff, please contact your R&R Specialist to see about scheduling and social distance protocols.

Your R&R Specialists would like to remind everyone of free trainings on CECPD. Please go to okregistry.org to find the Statewide Calendar. This calendar has all available trainings in the state of Oklahoma. Find the drop-down tab labeled “Training Fee” to select free to find trainings that are free to attend. The Pyramid Model Modules are available for free and can be a total of 18 hours for training; simply search Pyramid Model on the calendar to find the link to sign up. CECPD has online training and announced that they will be adding free trainings a month until June. To sign up, go to cecpdonline.org and find the link to free trainings on the home page. A reminder - your registry log in will be different from cecpdonline.org. If you have not done training on this site, you will need to register for a new account.

All resource kits are available for check out. If you are interested in borrowing a kit, please contact your R&R Specialist. Resource kits are cleaned and sanitized when they come back to us from other providers. We want to ensure that our providers and children are protected against viruses and germs.
