Ms Chauntel & Ms Madison's Class - Toddler 2

Hello, Parents!

Last month, we celebrated Read Across America week while celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday. We did activities from some of Dr. Seuss’s most famous books, such as The Foot Book; Ten Apples Up On Top; and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. We used these books to engage in dramatic play and do some dressing up!

We also turned our dramatic play center into a Veterinary clinic, and we talked about how to take care of our stuffed pets and how to love and respect them. The children got to give the animals check-ups using a stethoscope, thermometer, and pretend “medicine” to help their animals feel better. We also put up a “pet wall” in our vet clinic so that the children could see all their real-life home pets. The children had so much fun with this vet clinic, and we will revisit this again in the future!

In April, we will be talking about Spring and the weather. I love Spring and am so ready for it! We will be talking about what kind of clothes are appropriate for this climate, and what kind of accessories we need if it is raining (rain boots, rain coats, umbrella’s etc.) We will also talk about where rain comes from and how it helps everything grow and bloom. Additionally, we will do lots of activities that will help to improve their fine motor skills.

As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at cfortney@delawarechild.org.
