Ms Deb's Class - Infants
Hello, everyone! I want to welcome our new families; we are so excited to have you with us!
February has been up to the normal Oklahoma crazy weather! This is a great time to remind everyone to keep extra clothes at school, suitable for all different types of weather. We spend a lot of time outdoors – weather permitting – and the kids benefit from it, as well as love being outside. Remember, it’s not the cold that makes kids sick, it’s viruses and bacteria.
For March we will be working on Social/Emotional Skills. Did you know babies begin learning these skills from the moment of birth? I think it is amazing! As soon as they begin having interactions with the people who take care of them, they begin to develop an understanding of feelings. “Starting from birth, babies are learning who they are by the way they are treated.” (zerotothree.org) This is part of the reason it is so important to have an infant teacher who knows the significance of working on these skills from the beginning.
I would also like to remind everyone that as your child’s teacher, I am here to support their growth and development, and I am also here for you, the family. Reach out to any of us here at Ivy Academy Downtown when you need support or information!
Ms. Deb
