Ms KK's Class - Early Preschool 1
Happy New Year from EPS!
It's been a bumpy yet fun ride this past year, and I have to admit, we have learned new things, hung on to the old, and embraced going forward. It has been different teaching young children why adults wear masks daily and why we are washing our hands more frequently. However, we are going into the new year with smiles on our faces and moving on steadfastly, embracing the love we have for our country and children. They are the future!
For the month of December, we enjoyed many colors of the Christmas themes. The children love to pick the different color daily that goes into the water at the sensory table. This is such a simple way to allow them to take ownership of something in the classroom. They also have been cutting, folding, and building things that remind them of Christmas. They are so amazing to observe. They love the little Christmas tree in our classroom, and you can frequently catch them staring at the lights and so delicately touching the decorations that adorn the tiny green evergreen. Such a sight to behold. We enjoyed our Christmas party with a socially distanced visit from the jolly man in red! The children have been extra good, so they couldn't wait to see what Santa brings them this year!
For the month of January, we will be studying warm winter clothing and why it keeps you warm. We will also be discussing the different types of weather you want to wear warm clothing in. We will look for signs of freezing weather outside and what makes it looks that way. We are hoping to find an icicle or two so we can examine the shape under a magnifying glass. So much to keep their minds busy!
Don't forget Parent Teacher Conferences will be held in January as well. We can't wait to tell you how awesome your child is!
Thanks for reading our blog, and we wish you all a prosperous new year!!
