Ms KK's Class - Early Preschool 1
Hello from Early Preschool!
We would like to start off by welcoming three new students to our classroom! The amazing children that have joined us are adjusting very well. They are learning the routine, have enjoyed being table helper, and are mastering the all-time favorite, "Zip Line!" It's always a good idea to allow your child to bring something familiar to school if they are somewhat unsure of what their day may be like. We love our family picture wall which gives the children a sense of belonging and ownership to the classroom. It's a great way to transition, and it allows the child to see family throughout their day. Also, talk with your child about what is getting ready to happen and get to know their teacher. If you aren't able to visit in person, I would love to speak about your child and discuss any important questions or concerns you have on the phone. Communication is important. Remember, I am always here to help you!
During the month of March, we also celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday! Dr. Seuss was born March 2nd, 1904, and is still to this day one of the best loved children's authors. The children have a favorite book, "The Cat in the Hat". We dressed up differently each day the week of his birthday, and the children had so much fun! I have to admit, each time I read "The Cat in the Hat", the children would give different feedback on the way the scenario could have gone. It was interesting to hear what each child had to say and the way they would take over the conversation and discuss among themselves the ways of the story. This is a special time for me to sit back and enjoy what my class is actually learning at such a young age. They are taking the lead, sharing ideas, and questioning each other. Way to go!
We will continue to study the weather and Springtime. Planting and harvesting will become a big part of our next few months, and we are very excited! I would like to ask that each family engage in planting at home with your child. If you don't have space outside, inside will be fine. Simply being together and seeing progress will be a huge reward for you both and a lesson your child can carry down to their family.
I hope you enjoyed reading about our time together! Thanks for stopping by! Remember, if you drive by and we're on the playground, please honk!
