Hello, Families!

Last month in T1, we focused on problem solving by showing curiosity, motivation, and persistence. We gave the children many opportunities to use their problem-solving skills by providing open-ended materials to put things in, take out, build things in different ways, and encourage them to keep trying when something doesn’t work the way they want. They built towers, garages, houses, and made shapes.

Next month we will focus on social and personal skills. This will help develop relationships between the children and teachers. The children need to feel safe in their environment to thrive in the other areas in their development. We will be focusing on helping them recognize and label themselves and their friends. We will be reading new books to teach them about emotions, and we’ll be providing songs and games to encourage cooperative play.

With the holidays coming up, we encourage you all to bring some new pictures for the classroom.
