Ms Mollie's Classroom 2
Hello from Classroom Two!
The year has kicked off and we are in full swing. New routines were started in class that the children have quickly become accustomed to. Families have shared some new routines that have been started at home. Starting a new routine can be something very simple or completely new, and you must retrain yourself. We practiced and talked about our new routines, and then one day it clicked for each of the children in their own way and on their own time. It can take time when you have changed something. It is all about repetition - the more you practice, the better you will become at it.
We have an abundance of new books in class that have intrigued the children and got them excited to read even more. As a class we talk about the different parts of the book and how we treat books with respect. Books that get children to interact are a great way to keep them engaged and interested in what they are doing. I will be sending a book home every now and then for some family engagement that pertains to the child’s interest or developmental needs.
Spring is just around the corner, and as a class I would like to celebrate it with a cultural celebration of Holi. Last year a family of ours shared this fun and interactive holiday with us. We will trace and cut out our bodies and place them around the playground. Then for the fun part, we will throw a special powdered paint of all colors on the cut outs and on each other to celebrate and welcome spring. This holiday also represents new beginnings, and as the New Year has started, we want to have a positive outlook and spread our happiness.
Miss Mollie
