Ms Nikki's Class - Early Preschool

Dear Families,

Our study for the next 2 months is literacy. We will study phonological awareness, knowledge of print, letters, and words. Literacy learning depends upon more than teaching the ABC’s; introducing children to environmental print is very important at this age. We will be using our library center a lot in the next 2 months along with reading and writing. I also will be clapping out the syllables of words to the children to help them understand the word spelling and sound. Language and literacy are important tools for thinking and communicating.

I want to thank all parents in this time that we are in. I know that it is hard not being able to come into the class to see what we are learning, but I’m always here for any questions you may have.
