Ms Regan's Class - Toddler 2

This last month in T2 we have been focusing on positive relationships and communication skills. We have encouraged the children to use their words as much as they can. The children have learned some new words such as their names, more, please, and thank you. Sometimes they used gestures to help others understand what they wanted. We played games outside and had races with our friends. They really enjoyed this as they were gaining friendships.

This next month we will be focusing on letter and number recognition. We will be doing this by having foam letters and numbers in the sensory table. During circle time, we will have a picture with the child’s name beside it so the children can tell us who it is; and we will sing, clap, and dance to the ABC song as much as we can throughout the day. We will also be counting through songs like “How many Fingers”, “One Little Finger”, and “The Ants Go Marching” so that the children will learn some number recognition. We will count during transitions, also. We will be doing this as we will count the steps to the sink, table, or door.

I encourage you to practice letter recognition at home with your child such as spelling their names, singing the ABC’s, and listening to The Phonics Song 2 by KidsTV123.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me through email at rstevens@delawarechild.org. I would like to ask for you to send some updated family picture for our family wall.

Best Regards,

Mrs. Regan, Master Teacher T2
